Why is it so hot and humid every day in the rainforest?
The climate in the rainforest is hot, wet and sticky. This is a result of a number of causes but most are related to the fact tropical Rainforest's are found along the equator. This leads to convectional rain, long sunshine hours and intense heating all year round. At the equator the sun is always high in the sky. It is often directly overhead at midday, At the equator the vertical rays of heat have only a small area of land to heat up, therefore temperatures are always high. In places like the UK the sun is always much lower in the sky- even in summer it is never overhead. The rays of heat have a much larger area of land and water to heat up. Temperatures are never as high!
